Return To Freedom
Grand Meadows is a proud sponsor of Return to Freedom, the American Wild Horse Sanctuary that provides a safe haven for wild horses, herds and burros who might otherwise be seperated, slaughtered, abused , or left to roam without food or water. What sets Return To Freedom apart is their focus on keeping bonded, natural herd groups together by relocating and re-releasing them at the Sanctuary and maintaining the herds according to their geographic origins. Return To Freedom has subsequently been used by various agencies as a model for wild horse preservation. Currently home to over 200 wild horses and burros, including Spirit, the famous Kiger Mustang stallion who was the inspiration for the 2002 DreamWorks animated film Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. The American Wild Horse Sanctuary offers a number of unique education, conservation and preservation progams that span from animal welfare to holistic range management.
